LONDON: To help consumers beat the VAT increase blues, and with rising utility costs and higher heating bills as a result of harsh winter conditions, consumers are set to benefit with savings of up to £100 off annual heating bills as a result of Superglass’ biggest ever loft insulation initiative, launched by DIY personality Craig Philips yesterday at Lawsons builders’ merchants, London.

Superdad highlights that the right loft insulation saves you money, reduces the energy you use and your carbon footprint, and makes your home more comfortable: signs of a poorly insulated home are cold walls and floors, uneven heating levels and mould on walls.

Mr Philips comments: “With the experience I’ve gained within the DIY and building sector, I can confidently say that it pays to install the right loft installation and Superdad is a great-value offer.

“Anything that saves people money and helps the environment is not to be missed and in January when everyone is watching the pennies, there’s no better time to consider this. By making a small investment in your home’s heating future, you’ll see a marked difference in your heating bills from now.”

Working in conjunction with SSE, this CERT (Carbon Emissions Reduction Target) funded DIY initiative allows consumers access to CERT funding and therefore affordable loft insulation only available from a nationwide network of Superdad registered independent builders’ merchants. The Superdad website www.superdadonline.co.uk not only helps consumers find their local stockist but provides guidance on how to install the product and health & safety.

Michael Beard, sales and marketing director, Superglass Insulation, said: “Superdad is here to help the nation save money and help the environment. By installing insulation that is 270mm deep, consumers can save up to £100 on their annual heating bills; keep their home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer; prevent condensation and reduce their home carbon footprint by 800kg every year.”

Lindsey Restrick, Partnership Manager, SSE added: “This is a superb, efficient initiative that clearly underpins the government's targets to cut household emissions by a third by 2020, and we hope Superdad captures the attention of home owners across the UK.

“Loft insulation is an investment that should never be undervalued, both in terms of the financial long-term gain and the impact it has on carbon emissions.”
