UK: Bathroom distribution specialists, Ideal Bathrooms, are celebrating 30 years in the bathroom industry during 2011.

As a forerunner of bathroom distribution, Ideal Bathrooms has continued to thrive and be successful in this ever changing and fast paced industry and has worked resolutely to achieve and maintain its status as the number 1 bathroom distributor in the UK.

Back in 1981, the bathroom market was changing rapidly, with the “smallest room in the house” starting to transpire as the must do home improvement. Manufacturers were producing coloured suites and the demand for different, fashionable products increased. Such was the demand that manufacturers and builders merchants were unable to satisfy the immediate needs of the consumers.

The potential of this gap in the market was spotted by brothers Fowzi and Isaac Baroukh, who were themselves running a bathroom showroom in Kingston upon Thames. Unhappy with the service they received they looked at how support to showrooms could be improved and Ideal Bathrooms was born.

Founder Isaac Baroukh stated: “At first we were unsure if we wanted to be distributors or retailers, which is why we had a showroom. But it soon became clear to us that distribution was the direction in which we wanted to specialise in and by the time we opened our first depot, the retail side had closed down.”

Ideal Bathrooms have big plans to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, and would also like others to benefit from the company's success – notably its retail customers and the ‘Help The Hospices’ Charity for which the aim is to raise £50 000.

Ideal Bathrooms has teamed up with 12 key suppliers, offering retailers the chance to win some outstanding prizes and experiences every month throughout 2011 in a VIP prize draw. There are thousands of runners up prizes with fantastic instant win scratch cards and no limit as to how many times you can enter.

Every time customers order products from the featured brand they will be entered into the VIP prize draw and when they take delivery of products from the featured brand, they will also receive a scratch card and at the same time will raise 25p for the ‘Help the Hospices’ charity.

Prizes to be won include an Omega Seamaster Watch (as worn by James Bond), a luxury weekend in New York, two tickets to the Monza Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix including flights and accommodation and two Centre Court tickets to Wimbledon, plus overnight accommodation.

All retailers have been sent a Commemorative Calendar, which features all the VIP prizes.

Ideal Bathrooms has big plans for 2011 including an industry celebration in May – ‘The Big Blue Ball’ – which will be the event of the year for customers and suppliers alike, the company said.
