COALVILLE: At the start of 2011, Ramón Asensio was appointed from the board of directors of the Roca Group to be the new chief executive officer of the company. The 56-year old has replaced José Miguel Roca Sans in the role.
Mr Roca Sans, who has worked for the Roca Group for 20 years – the last 10 of which as chief executive officer – asked the company’s board of directors to release him from his responsibilities as chairman of the board and chief executive officer at the end of 2010.
Chairman of the board of directors, Javier Roca, praised his professionalism and achievements, particularly in the past few difficult years, and the board of directors thanked him for his work and for the goals he had achieved.
Mr Roca Sans will retain his links to the company as a presidential advisor and as president of the Roca environmental foundation 'We Are Water'.
Ramón Asensio has been working for Roca for over 25 years and has been the group’s human resources senior managing director since 1998.
