STOKE: A visit to Recticel Insulation Products by Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls has focussed attention on the record of success that the company has achieved since it began operating there just over 3 years ago.
Accompanied by the MP for Stoke-on-Trent South, Rob Flello, Ed Balls toured the Recticel site at Meir Park.
“We opened the plant in 2007 in the face of the recession, and since then we have gone from strength to strength” says Recticel’s commercial director, Chris Hall. “We were delighted when we were selected for the visit. We’re always looking for a better way to achieve our aims and this has helped us build an excellent reputation for the quality of the products we produce, for the efficiency with which we produce them and for the environmental performance of the plant.”
During his tour of the plant, Ed Balls was able to view the various processes used to manufacture the Recticel insulation board products, from initial mixing of the components through to the strict quality control procedures.
"I very much enjoyed visiting Recticel Insulation and was impressed with the quality and efficiency of the operation there,” he comments. “Recticel is a success story in many ways. For Stoke-on-Trent, the company's decision to locate their UK manufacturing base there was a real boost. They have created much-needed jobs and they have recruited an excellent workforce. I'm pleased that the Regional Development Agency, Advantage West Midlands, supported the project.”
