LONDON: Dulux Trade has announced the launch of an innovative point-of-sale (POS) ‘Information Centre’ for its woodcare range.

The new four sided, rotating POS is a resourceful display unit which presents essential woodcare information to professional decorators in a simple and effective way, helping them to make easy yet informed decisions when it comes to product selection.

The POS is quick to install and has been specifically designed to take up the minimum of space, so that it can be positioned next to the product range it is referring to.

With the vast array of woodcare solutions now available, choosing the right one can sometimes prove difficult, especially as wood maintenance can be a complicated category to understand. With this in mind, Dulux Trade developed the new Information Centre.

The display, which is mounted on to the shelf, is the perfect support for decorators in making the right product choice. On one side of the unit, wood blocks show the range of ready mixed colours that Dulux Trade translucent woodstains are available in. On another, different types of wood blocks, including a range of pale and dark timbers, demonstrate how the coloured woodstains will look when applied to different substrates.

On the third side, an easy to follow guide of key woodcare products enables decorators to select which solution is best for their job. Coatings for interior or exterior use are clearly indicated, along with the type of finish they provide. For example, Dulux Trade Weathershield Ultimate Woodstain and Dulux Trade Weathershield Ultimate Opaque finishes are included in the exterior section.

Finally, but importantly, the fourth side of the unit is able to hold additional product literature, which the decorators can take away with them.

“Understanding what translucent woodstain colours will actually look like when they are applied to wood is really important because depending on the substrate which a woodstain is applied to, the final shade of colour may be different than expected. The Information Centre is a novel way of displaying this information in an easy way. This, along with the other information provided on the unit, will aid decorators to make the correct product and colour selection every time,” said Richard Bradley, marketing manager, Trade Woodcare.
