UK: Plumbase has added to its network following the acquisition of 11 PTS branches and one City Plumbing Supplies site.

The branches were acquired from Travis Perkins and have all been rebranded as 'Plumbase', extending the merchant's network in key trading areas.

The outlets are situated at Bridgend, Port Talbot, Swansea, Merthyr Tydfil, Haverfordwest, Tamworth, Telford, Hitchin, Luton, Witney, Woolwich and Newport on the Isle of Wight.

This latest acquisition represents an opportunity for further expansion and compliments the existing branch network for Plumbase. It also brings the merchants' total number of branches to 194.

"To add 12 new branches in a matter of days is an exciting step forward for us," said Chris Maityard, Plumbase operations director.

"It also involved a lot of hard work and commitment from both our existing teams and our new colleagues, and provided a great opportunity to develop teamwork.

"Customer service will be the first priority. We have an independent ethos and a strong focus on customer service, which we are very proud of.

"Our customers will have an enhanced product choice as Plumbase lines will be introduced alongside the existing ranges.

"The core plumbing and heating ranges will be augmented with bathrooms, sanitaryware and boiler spares. Customers will have access to 15 000 boiler spares, for next-day delivery," Mr Maityard reported.
