BRISTOL: Lafarge Plasterboard has re-launched its recycling service as GTEC Wasteline Direct.
The move will help customers meet increasingly exacting environmental regulations, said the company.
GTEC Wasteline Direct is a nationally available recycling service that enables the construction industry to recycle its plasterboard waste through its closed loop recycling system. According to Steve Hemmings, sustainability manager at Lafarge Plasterboard: "The waste material is safely removed and, where logistically feasible, the gypsum is recycled back into new plasterboard. No waste recovered through the scheme is land-filled."
Mr Hemmings added that "it provides customers with a competitively-priced recycling service which, despite increasing fuel charges, costs up to 40% less than the previous service, said the company.
"The service also supports Site Waste Management Plans and helps customers gain maximum BREEAM and Code credits in commercial and housing projects by providing electronic reports detailing the amount of waste collected and recycled. These are issued to customers monthly and once a project is completed."
GTEC Wasteline Direct also provides:
* A choice of container to suit individual and project site requirements – bags; 12 square yard skip; 40 square yard skip, or bespoke container sizes, if required.
