BRISTOL: Kellaway Building Supplies has announced its continued sponsorship of the Bloodhound SSC Project for another year.
Kellaway have been SME (Small to Medium size Enterprise) sponsors of the pioneering supersonic car project since 2010, which aims to create a land speed record car capable of achieving over 1000mph.
Chris Parker, Kellaway’s sales development and marketing manager explains:“We are keen to invest in the engineers of the future and Bloodhound is committed to an exciting education programme for schools and colleges that brings science and engineering to life.”
With a predicted shortage of scientists, engineers and mathematicians in the UK one of the key aims of Bloodhound is to inspire young people to choose to study science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects at school and university.
“Bloodhound’s reputation for innovation and creativity fits neatly with our wider business objectives where we are continually looking at new technology to improve our own construction and building products.”

Over the next twelve months, the supersonic car will be constructed and tested in the UK, with the land speed record being attempted at the Hakskeen Pan in South Africa during 2012.
And Kellaway has taken its commitment to young people one step further with the announcement of a £10 discount off special Trade Kits for apprentice carpenters, plumbers and general builders.
