BIRMINGHAM: Polypipe WMS will host a specialist ‘Code Clinic’ at the forthcoming Greenbuild exhibition, helping delegates to navigate their way through the water aspects of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

Visitors will be encouraged to bring their drawings along for feedback from Code Assessor Steven Knight, who will be on hand to discuss whether or not their designs meet Code requirements. Copies of Polypipe WMS’s Code Compliance Kit will also be available on stand E40.

Brian Stannett, product manager – Sustainability at Polypipe WMS, commented: “Complying with the Code for Sustainable Homes is becoming increasingly important for those involved in residential construction, although many find the regulations quite daunting. By understanding the way the Code works, businesses can gain the most points possible, and therefore the maximum benefits. Our Code Clinic provides the perfect opportunity for visitors to Greenbuild to talk directly to an expert about the requirements of the code, and to pick up a copy of our Code Compliance Guide for further information.”

Polypipe WMS, the UK’s dedicated sustainable drainage and water management expert, launched its brand new Code Compliance Kit to help construction industry professionals to meet the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

The majority of residential new build in the UK now requires a Code assessment, either to gain funding or comply with Local Authority sustainability policies. Polypipe’s free, step-by-step guide outlines exactly what the assessors are looking for, and advises users how to comply with the requirements associated with the water usage and drainage categories within the code.

Focusing on the elements of the code concerning water usage and surface water run-off, the Compliance Kit provides a succinct, concise guide which explains exactly what the code means for designers, planners and contractors.
