HARTLEBURY: Forest Garden has further invested in its manufacturing processes with the introduction of automated machinery capable of increasing the company’s annual shed production by 25%.

As one of Forest Garden’s core volume products, sheds represent a key product group for the company. The £50 000 investment in new automated machinery will not only increase production efficiency, but will also help to increase the volume run of product that can go through Forest Garden’s manufacturing facility.

John Gomersall, sales and marketing director at Forest Garden, said: “With the demand for sheds staying strong we felt that now is the right time to invest in our manufacturing process, with the ultimate aim of increasing both volume and efficiency. In fact the introduction of the new machinery – which will increase our shed production by 25% – enables us to offer what we believe to be the largest garden shed manufacturing facility in the whole of Europe. This is an exciting prospect, and means that we are well placed to meet demands in even the busiest of seasons.”

The new automated machinery will be used alongside Forest Garden’s established workforce to automatically build shed floors. The machine will attach the pressure treated floor bearers to the floor sections which will increase output whilst ensuring a consistent and robust quality.

Forest is the UK’s largest manufacturer and distributor of garden timber products with ranges available in more than 1000 garden centres and builders merchants up and down the country.
