NORTHAMPTON: Travis Perkins is to sponsor EcoShowcase Construction Roadshows, a series of events for specifiers and buyers of sustainable products and building solutions.

The move follows the launch of Travis Perkins' Sustainable Building Solutions, which provides the construction industry with practical product and services solutions to the sustainable building agenda and presents a point of contact to access the skill, expertise and knowledge within Travis Perkins.

The seminar program, which consists of three half-hour sessions, is presented by environmental consultancy Ecus.

Paul Joyner, director of sustainable building solutions at Travis Perkins says: "This is a great opportunity for us to engage with specifiers and show how we can help them meet the needs of regulations simply and cost effectively through innovative technical product and solutions support, whether it's new build or retrofit.

"We will have some very exciting market-leading solutions to announce that you wouldn't normally be able to access from a merchant."

As part of the sponsorship agreement, the Travis and the event organiser, Framework plan a new feature, The Green Shoots Initiative, to provide a 'low-cost' route to market for fledgling companies with new sustainable products or solutions.

Framework's Steve Jones describes the package as a ready-to-go format that means start-up companies don't need to spend precious funds on their own stand materials. "All they need is a salesperson, some brochures and their samples," he says.

The autumn events begin at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium on 22 September then move to Birmingham 11 October, Cardiff 18 October, Luton 8 November, Southampton 16 November and Doncaster on 29 November.
