LEAMINGTON SPA: Build Center is helping the Lakelands Day Care Hospice in Corby reach its £450 000 fundraising target by donating materials to be used to create items for sale.

The Market Harborough branch of Build Center has donated plywood to the hospice that has been used to craft wheelbarrows and planters to be sold at the Lakelands Emporium in Corby town centre and on fete days.

The annual Summer Fete took place on the grounds of the hospice on Sunday 19th June. The wheelbarrows and planters were sold alongside craft stalls, a handbag and jewellery stall, a bouncy castle and more.

Nikki Hill, community fundraiser, said: “The hospice receives no government funding and relies entirely on charitable donations and events to raise funds. The donation from Build Center will support the hospice as it continues to provide its invaluable services to the people of Corby and surrounding villages.”

Andy Chambers, manager at the Market Harborough branch of Build Center, commented: “The Lakelands Hospice does outstanding work in the local community and we are delighted to play a part in helping them to reach their fundraising target.”
