BIRMINGHAM: Lafarge Cement has launched a tool for the modern DIYer with an iPhone App. The App is a mobile library of DIY information, hints and tips from the experts at Lafarge Cement.

Key features of the App include DIY Projects – an essential advisory tool including Lafarge Cement’s new how-to video guides for DIYers for common projects such as ‘Build a BBQ’, ‘Lay a patio’ and ‘General brickwork’. The App can help to reduce waste and keep down costs with a Cement Calculator which works out in seconds how much cement is needed for a particular job.

The 'Our Products' function has useful information on Lafarge Cement’s extensive range of packed and ready to use products - providing DIYers with specialist advice on which cement to use for a number of outdoor tasks and is especially helpful for in-store product selection.

The App also includes professional tips from the experts at Lafarge Cement on Product, Health and Safety – a crucial consideration for DIYers before starting a project.

Mike Lomax, marketing communications manager at Lafarge Cement comments: “Technology is changing the face of DIY and is revolutionising how our customers access information. Our iPhone App brings advice from Lafarge Cement’s expert team to our customers, wherever they are – be it at the DIY shop, home or office.

“For those DIYers without an iPhone, Lafarge Cement has developed a series of YouTube demonstration videos on how to carry out common repair and maintenance jobs at home. The library includes videos on tasks such as fixing posts, a guide to building brick walls, and how to mix concrete and mortar in the correct way to seasonal projects such as how to lay the perfect patio.”
