EDINBURGH: The National Buying Group is making dramatic changes to the the format of its annual conference.

The event, which this year takes place on 14-15 November in Edinburgh will, said executive chairman Allan Durning "have the theme of 'Building Sustainable Business' as the group gears up for what could prove to be two challenging years ahead for the industry".

Out will go the old format of 'meet the merchant' and the formal gala dinner. "In its place will be a fast-moving series of events and networking opportunities, exploiting an industry first – a supplier-driven strategic buying group conference. This will maximise both the commercial opportunities and the strengths of our trading relationships.," said Mr Durning.

First Event Management has been appointed to manage and deliver the Conference. "The company will be contacting our suppliers very shortly with the sponsorship opportunities that will be available over the two days," he continued.

"We look forward to networking and debating with our key suppliers on  the big issues facing the independent sector at the Conference Edinburgh."
