STAFFORD: Plumbing equipment supplier Altecnic has appointed specification specialist Neil Parry to head up its building consultancy support division.
The newly created position will offer consultants, contractors and house builders the opportunity to access expert advice, technical guidance and accredited products to meet Part L of the UK’s stringent building regulations, which regulates energy consumption and therefore the carbon footprint of new and refurbished buildings.
Mr Parry, 46, joins the Stafford-based company with over 25 years of experience working within the UK’s HeVAC and water industry markets. With a background in both national and international manufacturing, and particular expertise in European district heating systems, air conditioning and domestic services practices, Neil’s ‘hands on’ involvement with the construction industry has allowed him to directly support building services consultants with energy efficient centralised and decentralised designs.
Mr Parry has also spent several years conducting CPD seminars on topics such as Heat Interface Units (HIU), variable volume systems, central plant design and renewable energy integration, and will be applying his industry expertise to drive forward Altecnic’s market position in the specification market.
Mr Parry commented: “I’ve joined Altecnic at a very exciting time. The UK market for heat interface units is relatively new, but the majority of products currently supplied originate from traditional products that have changed little in the last few years.
"I’ll be working closely with our parent company, Italian manufacturer Caleffi to develop the next generation of intelligent HIU’s, along with other hydraulic control, commissioning and metering equipment.
"As with all our other market leading products, consultants can be assured that these new products will be ultra-reliable, innovative and offer significant technical and performance improvements over what’s currently available.“
Outside of work, Mr Parry is a keen cyclist having raised over £6000 for Macmillan Cancer relief by riding across Mexico from coast to coast. This year he’s ridden a seven day event across the Alps and has just completed three consecutive mountain stages of the Tour De France.
