SWINDON: ‘Grow Your Business with Unimer’ – the first Unimer Supplier Conference was a huge success. Over 140 delegates, representing a wide variety of supplier companies, joined the indusrty's financial clearing house at the National Homebuilding & Renovating Centre for a day’s event to explore in-depth how they can grow their business with United Merchants.

“Unimer's strategy is to work closely with suppliers and members to ensure the trading relationship and the opportunities it offers suppliers are fully maximised,” said marketing manager Suzanne Millward.

During a packed day, suppliers were treated to an overview of the current market for the industry, with the emphasis on how vital the building materials industry is for the economy.

“Despite the challenges faced by manufacturers and distributors to grow market share, improve on cashflow and reduce their operations costs, Unimer clearly demonstrated how it can add value to suppliers in all of these three challenging areas,” Ms Millward reported.

“Suppliers were also reminded of the tremendous benefits Unimer can offer with Unimer On-Line. This is a portal exclusively available to suppliers and members to streamline ledger processes.”

Ms Millward explained to delegates the routes to market available to Unimer suppliers. She outlined the benefits making the most of and expanding suppliers’ existing marketing communications plans by integrating the highly cost-effective offerings from Unimer.

Benefits derived from other business opportunities such as eBuildingSupplies and Green Energy Centre were also explored in detail by Robin Somerville and Lorcan Anglin.

"We were delighted that so many representatives could join us today. The very first Unimer Supplier Conference was by all accounts a very successful event, and we have received very positive feedback from delegates. It is clear that our strategy of delivering real benefits to suppliers is proving to be very valuable to them."
