BRISTOL: Kellaway Building Supplies has once again reached the final of the Customer Service category of the Builders' Merchants Awards for Excellence 2011 in a special ceremony held in London last week.

The Bristol-based company has a tradition of doing well at these awards, run by national trade publication Builders' Merchants News, and now in their 10th year.

Kellaway has previously won three of the prestigious awards - Best Customer Service in 2006 and 2008 and Best Training Initiative in 2008. Since 2006, the merchant has been either winners or finalists every year.

"We are delighted to be finalists again for the Best Customer Service category," said Chris Parker, the merchant’s sales and marketing manager.

"Our customers appreciate our friendly service and knowledgeable staff and they know we'll go that little bit further to make sure they leave our branches happy.

"As an independent, family-run business, we work really hard to provide our customers, both domestic and trade, with excellent customer service and we have many initiatives across the business to ensure this happens, including a rolling programme of independent mystery shoppers who judge us on branch visits, deliveries, technical enquiries and telephone and email contact. The company has seen its scores on these key areas increase year on year and we are very proud to have this recognised on a national level against some really tough competition," said Mr Parker.

"The Builders' Merchants Awards pit us against the very best in the industry.  To be finalists yet again is a huge credit to our staff and a very positive reflection of our ongoing commitment to customer service."
