COVENTRY: Jewson has launched an app version of its popular and interactive Ask Jack website service.

The app is free to download from the iPhone App Store and suitable for an iPhone or iPad. It allows users to view frequently asked questions on construction industry issues with a particular focus on sustainable building. Answers are supplied instantly by Jack, the friendly and knowledgeable virtual branch manager.

Gareth Drew, online marketing manager for Jewson, commented: "Designed to ensure trade professionals can access information wherever and whenever required, the new Ask Jack app, allows users to view existing questions or submit a new question quickly and easily. Simply type in the question and Jack will provide a real time response.

Questions can be as basic or as technical as required, covering anything from how to improve the fabric of a building, how different renewable systems work to the latest legislation. Users can also download Jewson's Sustainable Building Guide, to iBooks for easy reference. The Ask Jack app also allows users to view general information about the Jewson business such as branch opening times and branch locations.

"With the fast pace of change in the industry it can be hard to keep up with all the latest regulations and government incentives," said Mr Drew.

"The Ask Jack app provides an additional means of gaining advice, industry updates as well as top tips on how to build more sustainably. It's another practical extension of Jewson's online offering – helping to keep our customers informed."
