ONLINE: More than 450 people logged on to an exclusive webinar from Pilkington which gave an insight to the changes to Part L of the Building Regulations 2010, what they mean for architects and specifiers and how glazing is an essential product to help meet the Part L 2010 criteria. Beamed live just days after the consultation was formally released to the public, this hot-off-the-press webinar also saw hundreds more of the construction industry logging on to watch after the event.
The audience discovered the Government's CLG (Department for Communities and Local Government) has set out significant reductions in target CO2 emissions for all new buildings and the tightening of elemental requirements for windows for replacements and extensions. The panel also explained Window Energy Ratings (WERs) have become the main standard for dwellings in Part L 2010 and conservatories have been introduced into Part L for the first time.
Organised in conjunction with Building Magazine the webinar featured Paul Davidson, Sustainable Energy Group, BRE, Ian Ritchie, Ian Ritchie Architects and Phil Brown, European Regulatory Manager, Pilkington. Aimed at architects, specifiers and building control officers who are responsible for ensuring their building meets the new regulations, as well as window companies, fabricators and installers who supply the housebuilder, replacement window and commercial markets, the webinar is still a must see for all those involved in the construction process.
