SHEFFIELD: Two managing directors take the helm at SIG this month. Rob Barclay will steer the business for the UK and Ireland while Paul Gordon will take charge of SIG Distribution.

Mr Barclay's newly-created post carries the responsibility for all operating companies across UK and Ireland, including the UK Logistics and the UK operational business development teams.

Having worked for SIG plc for 15 years, Mr Barclay most recently served as managing director of SIG Distribution for the past three years. During that time he successfully led the merger of a number of operating businesses into the group.

"I'm extremely proud to take on this new role at SIG at an exciting time in the company's development. The quality and diversity of our service is unrivalled in the industry," he added.

"Now, it is my job to ensure that our businesses have a unified approach across the region, to give us a clear sense of direction and enable us to respond positively to ongoing changes in the market."

Paul Gordon, the new managing director of SIG Distribution, wil be responsible for the day-to-day management of the business and have ownership for ongoing future development and strategy.

"SIG Distribution is an industry-leading business and a core part of the group," he stated. "I am keen to ensure that we continue to provide our customers with the high level of service, expertise and advice that they have grown accustomed to, while making sure the business is truly fit for the future."

SIG is a European distributor of specialist building products in Europe, with strong positions in its core markets of insulation and energy management, interiors and exteriors.
