NORTHAMPTON: Keyline is purchasing 60 new vehicles as part of a fleet replacement programme to better meet the needs of the rail sector. The investment will predominantly be made up DAF CF75 crane-operated trucks that will be operated across the UK to provide a highly-effective and compliant delivery solution for heavy building materials to the rail industry.
The 26-tonne truck will be fitted with an Atlas 120 radio-controlled crane and Kinshofer bag nipping-enabled grab. Each vehicle will have a wide range of safety, security and performance features including white noise reversing alarm, reversing camera, unbreakable mirrors, fresnel lenses, close proximity mirrors, load security, system and vehicle tracking. This will also include a five-minute engine idle cut off to minimise unnecessary vehicle idling and reduce fuel usage.
All the vehicles will meet the Rail Industry Health & Safety standards ensuring they are suitable for deliveries to rail sites nationwide. Meanwhile, Keyline vehicles already based in London have an upgraded specification to achieve full Crossrail compliance. In particular, this will cover a range of additional measures that came into force in February including close proximity mirrors, side sensors, flashing beacons and rear strobes.
