OXFORDSHIRE: Independent builders' merchant Blanchford Building Supplies has announced the opening of a new branch in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. The new branch is located on the Beadle Trading Estate, off Hithercroft Road, and will open for business on Wednesday 6 June, immediately following the Queen's Diamond Jubilee bank holidays.

Managing director Adrian Smith said that although smaller than Blanchford's operations in Headington, Oxford and Princes Risborough, the new branch will complement the existing branches, as it is within 20 miles of each. The Wallingford branch will operate as a general builders' merchant, accommodating both delivered and collected sales.

Three vehicles - including a new 18-tonne crane lorry - will be based at the site and local deliveries, as with existing branches, will not carry delivery charges. The branch will operate within an approximate 20 mile radius of its location, and include areas such as Henley-On-Thames and Reading.

Mr Smith added: “Obviously we are opening in Wallingford to grow our business, but more importantly, we can give the customer a choice of who they buy their materials from." Blanchford has teamed up with Oxford-based local radio station 106 Jack FM to further promote the opening of its new branch.

As an independent builders' merchant with nearly 74 years in the business, Blanchford prides itself in the service, expertise and competitive prices it offers the trade and retail customer. Blanchford operates kitchen and bathroom showrooms at existing branches and a plant and tool hire division at Headington, Oxford.
