BELFAST: Staff at Haldane Fisher are getting on their bikes to participate in Co-operation Ireland’s ‘Maracycle’. The event is part of the UK Bike Week campaign (16 -24 June, 2012) to promote the health, financial and environmental benefits of cycling.

Haldane Fisher’s staff have taken up the peace-building charity’s ‘Maracycle Company Challenge’, which involves a team ride of 40 miles, 70 miles, 110 miles or 220 miles on either one or two days.

“It is an ideal way to build team spirit and camaraderie,” said Winnie Orr, event organiser at Co-operation Ireland.

“Maracycle is one of the largest cross-border charity cycling challenges on the island. A great deal of effort goes into the organisation to ensure the safety of the cyclists, and make the ride a fun event for all the participants.”
