SURREY/BERKSHIRE: HPS, the heating and plumbing specialist merchants, has opened another two branches this month. The branches are based in Redhill, Surrey on the Holmethorpe Industrial Estate, headed by branch manager Gavin White and at  Maidenhead, Berkshire at Priors Way under the management of Wayne Jones. The latter was opened this morning.

HPS sales director Peter Wilson said: "I am delighted to announce the opening of these two new branches. They take our HPS branch network to 28 and further consolidate our position as the South's leading independent merchant."

Mr Wilson said the merchant's trading was up by 8% on the first six months of 2012 against the same period last year.

The independent merchant also launched a new website this month (www.hpsmerchant.co.uk).

It features a wide range of information about HPS as well as giving viewers the option to place a pre-assembled order for collection within two hours, or request a quote from a local HPS branch.

"Customers can take the opportunity to shop online and save up to 30% or more on our usual trade prices by buying fittings in bag quantities direct from our supplier," Mr Wilson explained. The site also features links to HPS' social network sites on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

"We now additionally offer free wi-fi access to all our customers while in HPS branches and have installed iPads on all our trade counters, " Mr Wilson reported. "This will offer our customers instant internet access, including the ability to shop online at our new website."
