NORTHAMPTON: Travis Perkins Offsite, an extension to its Managed Services offering, has secured a three year contract with the LoCaL (Low Carbon Living) Homes factory in Walsall, which is owned by Accord Group.

Accord Group is one of the largest housing associations within the West Midlands. The LoCaL factory offers highly insulated two, three and four bedroom homes. The unique design of each property allows the external panels to be erected onsite in just one day.

Travis Perkins Offsite will manage the supply chain whilst utilising expertise and product solutions from within the Group to increase productivity and develop the LoCaL Homes business.

James Clack, sales director Travis Perkins Managed Services, said: “The objective of Travis Perkins Offsite is to promote and expand our Managed Service solution and the Group’s product offering to the public sector. As an organisation we recognise the importance of low carbon housing and therefore the significance of LoCaL Homes to the future of the house building industry. We’re extremely excited to confirm this partnership as the first contract for the offsite team and look forward to working with Accord Group.”

Jason Powell, factory manager at LoCaL Homes, said: “This is an exciting new concept in low carbon housing where we are manufacturing low carbon homes both for our own use and for others in the affordable housing market using local labour. We are delighted to be working with Travis Perkins and we hope that our partnership will assist us to continually improve the product on an on-going basis.”

Travis Perkins Offsite was established in January this year to specifically targets volumetric modular building manufacturers such as timber framed homes and kitchen pods. It is an extension of the Group’s award-winning Managed Services Division.
