WALES: Employees from City Plumbing Supplies, a specialist plumbing merchant and part of the Travis Perkins Group, have hiked, canoed and cycled to new lengths to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust as they took part in the Brave the Brecon Beacons challenge.

The two-day event took place on one of the largest mountain ranges in South Wales, Brecon Beacons, on 6 September. Twelve members of staff from branches across the UK faced the gruelling task of canoe rafting along the reservoir, a 30km bike ride and strategic orienteering to the top of the mountains.

City Plumbing Supplies began its two year partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust in January and the team is hoping to raise over £10 000.

Sherri Skene, marketing business partner of City Plumbing Supplies, said: "City Plumbing Supplies has always been heavily involved with charity work and we encourage all our branch staff to support Teenage Cancer Trust as much as possible.

"The challenge was an opportunity for staff to come together and raise much needed funds for a great cause, but most importantly it will help to increase awareness of the effects cancer has on young people across the UK."

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for the six young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day.
