FALKIRK: Scotland’s first renewables training academy is to be opened by Plumb Center. It will give installers north of the border the skills and knowledge they’ll need for a prosperous future.

Falkirk Renewables Centre, which opens on 29 October, is Plumb Center’s eighth academy designed to Make Renewable More Do Able. The business also has more than 25 specialist renewables branches in the UK.

It offers fully accredited BPEC and HETAS courses on technologies including: Biomass, Solar Thermal, Ground Source and Air Source heat pumps, Photovoltaics (PV), vented and unvented hot water, water regulations, Part L and Renewable Energy Awareness.

Heating engineers wanting to become Green Deal installers and advisors can also gain the qualifications they need.

The centre boasts working displays and training rigs from manufacturers including Worcester Bosch, Kingspan, Windhager, Broseley and Alpha.

“We’re delighted to open our first renewables training academy in Scotland,” said Robert Beagley, Plumb Center’s Regional Trading Director. “It gives installers access to the top class training vital for their futures. It is also the first HETAS accredited centre in Scotland.

“We’re very proud that many of the market leaders in renewable technology have joined forces with us to offer displays. Our industry is changing beyond all recognition and we’re determined to give our customers the green credentials and knowledge to prosper,” he added.
