TRAFFORD PARK: HSS Hire Service Group has bought Abird Generator Hire, which operates seven depots supplying diesel generators. The deal follows HSS Hire's sale last week to private equity firm Exponent.
Abird is based in Kent and in the north west has a branch in St Helens. It will continue to trade under its own brand and be led by its current management team.
It specialises in supplying generators and lighting towers on short and long-term contracts.
HSS said the acquisition complements its existing fleet and enables it to offer a wider range of generators in a growing market for temporary power.
