TOTTENHAM: Selco hosted a day of celebrations recently when it officially opened its latest branch in Tottenham’s White Hart Lane.

Customers, suppliers and stars from the sporting world attended the opening of the new branch at White Hart Lane.

Football legend and ex-Spurs Captain, Gary Mabbutt, joined Selco’s managing director Chris Cunliffe, chairman Malcolm Aldridge, finance director Rob Brewill, regional manager Paul Neary and branch manager Jaimie Robinson in cutting the ribbon to officially open the new branch.

Mr Mabbutt was one of the best known defenders in English football in the 1980s for his successful career spanning Bristol Rovers, Tottenham Hotspur and the English national team, for whom he won 16 caps.

As well as serving as an ambassador for the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa, he has also worked with the Deloitte Street Child World Cup, a charity project which trains and encourages street children and ex-street children in football and for street children's rights in Durban, South Africa.

Selco’s Tottenham branch is its 32nd to open in the UK, increasing the brand’s coverage in London to 16 branches within the M25.

Branch Manager Jaimie Robinson, who joined Selco earlier this year, will be taking up the reigns at Tottenham following a successful career in the building trade industry spanning 13 years.

“We engage closely with our customers to ensure we respond to their needs, and it was clear following feedback and discussion that a branch in Tottenham would serve a large portion of our customer base,” explained Mr Cunliffe.

“We’ll be opening more branches into 2013 to further improve our geographic coverage but in the meantime we’re thrilled to have a presence in Tottenham and we hope it will make it even easier for builders working in London to get the building materials they need, when they need them.”
