BOLTON: National distributor, PJH Group, has teamed up with the UK's leading charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children, the NSPCC, and is well on target to raising funds of £10 000 by the end of this year. The recent BUPA Great Manchester 10K Run was the latest in a range of fundraising activities planned by PJH and generated over £2000 in sponsorship.

Lacing up their running shoes for the charity and setting the standards, were chief executive, Andrew Yates, commercial director, Phil Anderson and kitchen and appliance category director, Jim Calverley, along with 15 other brave volunteers from the PJH Group.

Sally Hough, corporate marketing manager for PJH, said: "What a great way of fundraising for the NSPCC, than to take part in the challenging Great Manchester Run! Not only was this an enjoyable and rewarding event, but we managed to generate vital funds for an extremely important charity. We chose the NSPCC as PJH's annual charity as it makes such a huge difference in helping more than 10 000 children and their families every year."

The NSPCC relies on the general public for 87% of its donations, so fundraising activities are vital for its existence. Every day, thousands of children experience abuse and suffer in silence, and the NSPCC's 'ChildLine' helpline provides support to many children and young people.

Aiming to raise in excess of £10 000 over the course of this year, the PJH Group has a programme of monthly fundraising challenges and events that the whole company can get involved with to generate funds for the charity. From ‘Frock Swaps' to baking challenges, and Sweepstakes to dress-down days, the next major event is the PJH Group Football Tournament at the Power League Soccer Dome in Old Trafford - which will bring together staff from all PJH branches throughout the UK.
