Water treatment specialist Sentinel has welcomed a new chief executive officer to head up the business as it heads into 2013 in buoyant mood after another successful year in 2012.

Steve Goodwin has taken the role of chief executive in a move that owners Electra Partners see as strengthening a team that is already the most knowledgeable in the water treatment sector.

Mr Goodwin spent 26 years with SC Johnson and its subsidiaries in a variety of sales and marketing roles. He has spent the last two years as chief executive, Europe for the Deb Group, manufacturers of Swarfega and other skincare products. He brings a wealth of experience in product development initiatives and of growing existing businesses and opening new geographic territories. A native of the North West of England, Mr Goodwin has lived and worked in Germany and the USA and speaks fluent German and French.

It’s a move that sees Gary Roebuck who has played a key role at Sentinel for nearly twenty years, taking on the important new position of business development director. In his new role, Mr Roebuck will focus on the rapidly expanding international business that has seen Sentinel established as the leading brand across Europe and growing rapidly in the short time it has been in business across the Atlantic. In addition he will lead the development of Sentinel’s strong relationships with OEMs in the marketplace and head up the commercial arm of the business.

Sentinel Chairman Nick Brayshaw says he’s delighted to welcome Mr Goodwin to the company and that this is just a part of the plans that will see Sentinel building on the successes of the past few years: “With well over twenty years expertise in this business sector, Sentinel has developed into an impressive leader in the ever growing water treatment marketplace.

“We have an immensely valuable brand and a range of sector leading products, both in the traditional wet heating system sector and in the renewables sector. We have a significant pipeline of exciting new products that will bring new value to our customers and competitive differentiation for our business.

“We’re confident that Steve can bring a range of valuable and extremely relevant skills to the business at the stage we find ourselves at today. We’re also delighted that Gary has agreed to take on the vital role of building our international business, utilising his long experience with the company. These are exciting times for Sentinel, as we invest confidently in the business, for the years ahead.”
