The Greenworks Training Academy in Birmingham recently welcomed the Baroness Verma, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, for a tour of its facility.

Greenworks has been appointed the official training supplier for the Birmingham Energy Savers scheme, which is set to make energy use greener and more affordable for 60,000 households across the city, as well as having a positive impact on the local job market.

Greenworks has grown to become the UK’s recognised authority and market expert in sustainable building products and solutions. Through its specialist training Academy, Greenworks provides a range of industry leading practical and classroom based training and e-learning modules. Since its launch, the Academy has played an integral role in delivering the green agenda.

As such, Greenworks is working alongside support services provider Carillion, for the Birmingham Energy Savers scheme, and during an official visit to the city, Baroness Verma took the time to come along to the Greenworks Training Academy to see some training underway and to speak to the team.

“I had the pleasure of meeting 15 trainees undertaking the last day of their Green Deal assessor training at the Green Works Academy,” commented Baroness Verma. “This excellent facility, which offers training and certification for people aspiring to work in the Green Deal market, is testament to the growing need for quality services in energy efficiency across the country.”

“We were very proud to welcome Baroness Verma to the Academy,” commented Marcus Jefford, operations director at Greenworks. “As the official training supplier for the Birmingham City Energy Savers scheme – Greenworks has established itself as the leading authority in sustainable building solutions and we’re absolutely committed to the successful delivery of the green agenda.”
