Chandlers Building Supplies has launched a charity challenge to raise £50,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The Chandlers £50k Challenge is in honour of Chandlers employee Rob Sadler, a Cystic Fibrosis sufferer himself, who will be having a double celebration during the year, marking not only 30 years of Chandlers employment but also his 50th birthday. Those with Cystic Fibrosis are not expected to live beyond their 30s.

Mr Sadler, who is based at Chandlers’ Petworth branch, has raised thousands of pounds for the charity. A spokesperson said: “The CF Trust is a fantastic charity and I’m delighted that Chandlers is launching this campaign.”

Simon Cook, branch manager at Chandlers’ Petworth branch, said: “With the average life expectancy of a Cystic Fibrosis sufferer being just 35 years old, we are embarking on this exciting and ambitious challenge in celebration of Rob’s long service to the company and his zest and passion for life. The whole company has fully got behind the campaign and are busy organising events to take place, but we also want the community to be part of this and give their support.”
