Shutl yesterday (9 April) announced that Jewson has launched the world’s “fastest, most convenient delivery service”, from six of its London branches.

The partnership will enable London-based Jewson customers to order from a participating local branch – either in person or by phone – and get their orders delivered in as little as 90 minutes, or within a convenient 1-hour delivery window of their choice.

Participating branches at launch are Croydon, Walton-on-Thames, Fulham, Kentish Town, Romford and Wembley, with Shutl delivering to qualifying postcodes in and around the M25. In line with the Jewson focus of delivering innovative service to the trade customer, Jewson is the only builders’ merchant to currently offer this service with Shutl.

“As a business, Jewson has a clear understanding of its customers’ needs and a history of innovating to serve those needs,” commented Tom Allason, founder and chief executive of Shutl. “With Shutl, Jewson has offered a unique service aimed at improving the productivity of builders out on a job, giving them what they want, when they want it. The bar’s been raised for the rest of the industry.”

David Fenton, marketing director at Jewson, said: “We undertook research with Jewson customers in London to ascertain the day-to-day issues they face whilst working on site. Running out of product and material coupled with traffic congestion and parking restrictions were top of the list – our partnership with Shutl will help to address this allowing the customer more time on the job.”
