Superglass Insulation welcomed the Builders’ Merchants Federation (BMF) to its manufacturing plant in Stirling last week (24 April).

BMF managing director John Newcomb and newly appointed Scotland regional manager Graham Bolton were met by Superglass directors Mark Atherton and Allan Durning, who accompanied them on a tour of the site to witness the plant’s transformational capital investment firsthand.

Superglass wanted to demonstrate the commitment of the management team in meeting ongoing industry requirements, product specification and customer service. The Superglass team were also eager to discuss ongoing industry issues and to have the BMF’s support in backing the independent manufacturer as a key part of the building trade in the UK.

Following the meeting, Mr Durning said: “We are pleased to have the support of the BMF and to meet with both John and Graham to discuss and exchange goals and ambitions for the future. Similar to Superglass, the BMF has recently undergone a significant period of change in terms of rebranding and operational restructuring. We are therefore enthusiastic to share our new business objectives as both Superglass and the BMF look to serve the building and merchant community.

“The newly created role of regional manager for Scotland is particularly exciting for us and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with the BMF through Graham and continuing to discuss industry and business-related issues and initiatives.”

Mr Newcomb said: “I am a passionate believer in buying British whenever possible and it’s great to see Superglass investing to bring the best possible product to market, which is a real benefit to our merchant members and their trade customers. The BMF is also investing in the best business services and support systems, including a full complement of regional managers to meet regularly with members around the country and make sure their views are heard. I’m delighted to be in Scotland supporting Graham Bolton on this visit and to see what a fantastic manufacturing facility this is.”
