UK housebuilder Persimmon has appointed Jewson to supply all of its sites with high quality chipboard flooring.

Persimmon is able to reduce carbon emissions by using the merchant’s network of 600 branches – ensuring only the closest Jewson branch makes the necessary delivery.

After a long-standing relationship with Persimmon, Jewson was awarded the contract in January 2013 to supply chipboard flooring for 390 developments across the UK.

“We’ve always had a very good level of service and support from Jewson,” said Ian Hardy, group buying co-ordinator at Persimmon. “In addition, we have over 24 operating regions around the UK, so Jewson’s national network is incredibly important. The closest Jewson branch holds the packs of chipboard in stock, which are delivered out to the live sites only as and when required. This ensures build-times are kept on track and crucially - helps to cut carbon emissions to site.”
