BECKENHAM: One thousand companies have joined the Tile Association since the organisation first began in 2000.The latest recruit is Altwood Tiles of Maidenhead, a new branch for Caversham Tiles of Reading.
The Tile Association represents all aspects of the wall and floor tile industry in the UK, from manufacture to installation. TTA membership includes about 300 retailers and 250 tile fixing companies.
There are far more than 285 tile retailers and 231 tile fixers in the UK, but the Tile Association is selective, and will not accept any company as a member.
Each company, contractor and tiling fixer that wishes to join is carefully checked for checked for financial, technical and service standards.
The majority of TTA independent retail members will save more by using the Association's buying power to get preferential rates on insurance and PDQ rates alone than they will pay to be a member. Public liability insurance is free with membership.
