Wolseley UK has invested in 10 new 'Euro 6' emission standard vehicles to improve the capability and performance of its fleet.

The DAF CF85 vehicles, which will deliver stock from distribution centres to branches across the UK, feature new engine technology that produces lower levels of emissions than older style lorries, meeting Euro 6 emission standards, and reducing Wolseley UK's carbon footprint.

Wolseley UK is the UK's largest distributer of plumbing and heating products, delivering over 7,000 orders per day to around 6,000 locations per day.

The investment into the new vehicles will help ensure that the fleet operates efficiently and safely, while reducing repair costs associated with older vehicles.

Alan Newton, head of distribution and fleet management at Wolseley UK, said: "These new vehicles represent a significant investment into our fleet and demonstrate our commitment to having the most efficient operating model and continuously improving our environmental performance. Featuring cutting edge technology, the lorries set the standard for new vehicles coming into our fleet and will deliver customer orders in full and on time, every time."

Five of the vehicles will go to Wolseley UK's Worcester distribution centre, and five to the Melmerby distribution centre in North Yorkshire.
