NORWICH: Heatrae Sadia has appointed Jonathan Madden as operations director.

In his new position, Mr Madden will be responsible for quality, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering and maintenance, plus the safety and environmental requirements of the company. Prior to moving into the operations director role, he was technical director for five years, leading the research and development team to deliver 38 new products during the last three years.

Mr Madden has been with the company since 1987 when he joined as a draughtsman and has since worked in a number of different roles including national service manager, quality assurance and service manager and commercial service manager. His career with Heatrae Sadia has involved significant travel throughout the UK, Europe and other regions, including the Middle and Far East.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Madden said: “I’m delighted to be taking on the operations director role at this particularly interesting time for Heatrae Sadia.

“Our current focus is on value added techniques and a lean philosophy to help create a factory for a successful and sustainable future. I believe key to this is investment in people and the latest technology to maintain our market leading position in the water heating industry.”
