WEST YORKSHIRE: Paint brand Leyland strengthened its relationship with builders' merchant Selco recently as the two companies joined forces to hit the national airwaves with an early-morning competition.

Sponsoring the 'Breakfast Brainbuster Sports Quiz' on talkSPORT radio, alongside Selco, Leyland continued its successful affiliation with motorsport by offering listeners the opportunity to win a 'money can't buy' VIP weekend to round seven of the Dunlop British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone on 21 and 22 August.

The competition was a roaring success and attracted a huge amount of entries. The prize, which was won by Paul Smith from Wishaw in Lanarkshire, includes two full days of hospitality with the Leyland-sponsored Airwaves BMW team at Silverstone, including a tour of the garages and a grid walk, as well as the opportunity to get up close and personal with the drivers and support crew.

Leyland brand manager Nicki Hickman said: "Selco needed a brand that would chime with the core listeners of talkSPORT and there's little doubt that Leyland achieves that. Our sponsorship of Airwaves BMW over the past 12 months has proved incredibly successful and we are delighted to be able to give tradespeople the opportunity to experience what life in the fast lane is really like."
