COLCHESTER: Two employees at East Anglian builders’ merchant Kent Blaxill have passed the top health and safety qualification for the construction industry.

Neil Currell (glazing contracts manager) and Paul Meek (glazing site supervisor), who are both based at the company’s Colchester headquarters, have successfully completed the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety.

The certificate is aimed at supervisors, managers and CDM (construction design and management) co-ordinators who are required to ensure that activities under their control are undertaken safely.

Neil and Paul both had to study for a minimum of 105 taught hours and complete approximately 52 hours of private study and background reading.

Meanwhile Robin Coe (Colchester glass warehouse manager) and Alec Poole have both completed their NVQ 3 Assessors Course, enabling them to assess NVQ students.
