LEAMINGTON SPA: Wolseley plc has appointed Tessa Bamford and Michael Clarke as non-executive directors while Nigel Stein retires as a non-executive director after seven years service.

Tessa Bamford is a non-executive director of Barratt Developments, a governor of the British Institute of Florence and a non-executive director of Cantos Communications. She was formerly a director of J Henry Schroder & Co where she worked for 12 years in a number of roles between 1986 and 1998. Prior to that, Ms Bamford worked in corporate finance for Barclays de Zoete Wedd. Ms Bamford will join the Remuneration Committee of the Board.

Michael Clarke is president of Kraft Foods Europe, headquartered in Zurich. A qualified accountant, he spent his early career in South Africa and Hong Kong before joining Reebok International in 1991, holding various positions including managing Reebok's Africa and Middle East businesses and serving as vice president of South Asia/Pacific. Between 1996 and 2008 he held various roles at The Coca Cola Company including President of South Pacific and Korea, and President of North West Europe and Nordics. Mr Clarke worked for Deloitte between 1985 and 1989 in Cape Town and Hong Kong. He will join the Audit Committee of the Board.
