LONDON: The Federation of Master Builders doubts whether the Government's Green Deal scheme will result in the predicted gains in energy-efficiency because financial incentives are not high enough for homeowners.
In a survey of its members, 44% of contractors thought that homeowners were unlikely to take advantage of the scheme where homeowners make energy efficient home improvements at no upfront costs but with payments recouped through an instalment charge on the customer's energy bill.
