LEICESTER: NMBS is recognised as an Investors in People organisation and is proud to be one of 3000 companies within the UK that has maintained its Investors in People status for more than ten years.
A major part of the Investors in People is showing continued commitment to help staff meet their training and development needs.
As part of this ongoing commitment two members of the NMBS team, Dean Hayward, marketing manager, and Vicky March, operations manager, studied for their Diploma in Management Studies at the De Montfort University in Leicester. NMBS are delighted to announce that both Dean and Vicky passed with flying colours achieving the highest grade possible by passing with Distinctions.
Mr Hayward and Ms March have spent Thursday evenings for the past year studying at the University, coupled with many hours outside of the classroom completing their coursework. The course covered a wide range of business topics and consisted of four modules, which included human resources, finance, an individual management report and business strategy.
Mr Hayward says of his achievement: "The Diploma in Management Studies course was a great opportunity to broaden my overall business knowledge and meet people from other industries and understand their business strategies. It has been great implementing the ideas and things I have learnt from the course within my role at NMBS."
Ms March comments: "Although it has been a tough year studying alongside a full time job I thoroughly enjoyed the course and feel I have gained a lot from it which I can bring back into the business."
