NORTHAMPTON: Keyline, part of the Travis Perkins Group, is expanding its National Rail Office in Canning Town, east London, with a number of appointments to meet the growing demand for its heavy building materials solutions from within the rail sector.

Martin Shilling, with 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, and Lee Bowering, formerly a sales advisor at Clark Drain, have been hired for the positions of Crossrail manager and sales executive, respectively.

Mr Shilling will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships with main and sub contractors working on the Crossrail construction project, as well as developing new business opportunities. He joins Keyline from WT Burdens where he held the position of senior sales.

In his new role, Mr Bowering will be tasked with targeting new business within the rail sector on a nationwide basis and looking after existing customers. Prior to his role at Clark Drain, where he was responsible for selling manhole covers and drainage channel to major construction companies and builders merchants in the UK, he worked within the supply chain sector for a number of leading parcel carriers.

Richard Wade, rail sector manager at Keyline, commented: “As a leading provider of heavy building materials to the rail industry we are committed to providing unrivalled expertise to all specialist contractors, large infrastructure companies and rail organisations. The National Rail Office provides a single point of contact for all projects within the sector, so it is critical for us to expand our team to ensure we continue to provide the highest levels of contract management and customer service.”
