MANCHESTER: Methven Group, the global designer and manufacturer of premium showers and tapware, has appointed Mira Balac as group head of supply chain.

Ms Balac, who will be based at Methven UK in Leigh, Greater Manchester, assumes overall responsibility for purchasing and supply chain for the Group.

Joining the business from rival manufacturer Bristan where she held a similar role and was responsible for a multi-million pound supply chain, Mira has extensive experience in both the bathroom market and supply chain in Europe and Asia.

Steve Lee, chief executive of Methven UK, said: “Mira is already very well known within the industry and is a valuable addition to our team. We have some exciting plans within the business and she will be taking an important role in continuing to improve our coordination for purchasing and supply chain for the group.”

Founded in New Zealand by Scottish immigrant George Methven in 1886, today Methven is a world-class international business with presence in New Zealand, Australia, the US, Asia, the Middle East and the UK – after acquiring leading shower and tapware manufacturer Deva in 2007.

Methven continually expands its geographic market presence with its proprietary technology, showering systems and tapware ranges and during the past 125 years has earned a deserved reputation for innovative, high quality, and water and energy efficient products.
