City Plumbing Supplies (CPS) has appointed Emma Carroll as commercial director as part of a strategic restructure which will strengthen the commercial function.

Ms Carroll, who moves across the Travis Perkins Group from PTS where she worked in the commercial department for 14 years, will head up a seven-strong commercial team tasked with developing more structured relationships with suppliers, senior management, supply chain and marketing functions.

The new structure will ensure CPS has an industry leading team, sourcing the right products and services at market competitive prices for our busy installers.

Ms Carroll said: “This Board appointment is a significant step change which will ensure the commercial function has a greater presence internally and externally, providing valuable support for our sales and operation teams, but more importantly working to meet the requirements of our customers.

“Developing better relationships will enable us to secure the best deals with suppliers to sell the right range of products from top brands, in addition to developing and strengthening our quality own brand ranges.

“Combined with our next day availability promise, which is standard in all our new bathroom showrooms, our trade customers can be assured they will be able to get what they need, when they need it from City Plumbing Supplies.”

John Frost, managing director of City Plumbing Supplies, said: “Emma’s appointment along with the creation of a strengthened Commercial Team will open up some very exciting opportunities for both our suppliers and the City Plumbing Supplies business.”

Ms Carroll will be supported in the commercial team by two category managers, a product group manager, two product managers, a commercial projects manager and product co-ordinator.
