Customers are invited to browse a huge range of stock at HSS Hire’s new ‘retail-style store’ for quick and easy tool and equipment hire.

HSS Hire has selected Newbury as the location for one of its newest branch formats. Based at Newbury Trade Park on Hambridge Road, the recently opened new-style hire centre will give local customers easy access to a wide range of tools and equipment as well as offering hire-related services.

Three immediate new jobs will also be created, with further opportunities for apprentices in the future following news that HSS has launched a major national apprenticeship programme, with 50 apprenticeship places in the first wave.

HSS is promising huge opening offers for Newbury and those visiting in the first week will even be fed for free – breakfast butties and steaming hot mugs of tea and coffee are being served from the HSS breakfast van on weekday mornings from 7am to 11am until Wednesday 27 March.

Fiona Perrin, sales and marketing director at HSS Hire, said: “We’re giving customers access to an incredibly huge range of tools and equipment – and overnight delivery means anything they want that’s not already in Newbury can be with them for the next day.

“The Newbury branch is one of the first of our new local branch designs – the look and feel is more akin to a modern retail outlet where customers are welcomed in and encouraged to browse the kit. This is rather unusual in the hire industry – you normally face a counter and a catalogue, which is fine if you know exactly what you want, but this new format allows us to deliver a more rounded and accessible service to all the trades, whatever their size, as well as the DIY market.”

The new local branch concept is about improving local service for local customers. Newbury is one of the very first – a ‘blueprint’ which will now be rolled out to extend HSS’ national network at a local level throughout 2013.
