Travis Perkins as hailed its apprenticeship programme as the “backbone” of its extensive training initiatives.

Travis Perkins, which has more than 550 branches across the UK, is marking National Apprenticeship Week by reflecting on the support given to more than 230 staff through apprenticeship programmes during 2025.

The apprentices have either completed or are midway through a range of programmes, from the Level 2 Multi Skilled Merchanting through to the Level 5 Leadership Development Programme.

Travis Perkins’ dedicated LEAP Apprenticeships and Early Careers team delivers the vast majority of the company’s apprenticeship training.

Janette Capehorn, Leadership Training Manager for Travis Perkins, said: “National Apprenticeship Week gives us the chance to reflect on the fantastic work of all our colleagues who have either completed, or are working towards, their qualifications.

“We have an extensive range of bespoke training being delivered constantly but the apprenticeship programmes are the true backbone of our initiatives.

“They ensure we are offering the best possible service to our customers at all times and give colleagues the chance to upskill and navigate their career pathways, with the potential to go from branch right through to boardroom.

“We currently have over 700 apprentices on programmes across the Travis Perkins Group and colleagues from the builders’ merchant make up a significant proportion of that number.

“Huge congratulations go to all our learners who have completed their End Point Assessment and achieved their qualifications over the last 12 months. We look forward to continuing to progress with colleagues who are currently midway through their programme or starting their apprenticeship in 2026.”

Among the other apprenticeship programmes Travis Perkins also offered in 2025 were Level 3 Customer Sales Excellence, Level 4 Manager Development Programme, Level 4 Data Analyst, Level 2 Urban Driver and Level 4 Improvement Practitioner.
