A team of six from rugby club Fleetwood RUFC has taken part in a sponsored cycle ride for charity, with the aid of independent builders’ merchant Builders Supplies (West Coast).
The jaunt was called ‘Barrow and Back’ and was organised to raise funds for the RFU Wooden Spoon children’s charity and for the club’s Under 14s tour.
The group set off on Friday 28 March from the rugby club, stopping overnight in Carnforth. The next morning they rode to Barrow to watch their first team beat Hawcoat Park, and then cycled back to Grange-Over-Sands for the night, before returning to Fleetwood on Sunday afternoon. A grand total of 154 miles was covered.
During the ride, the team was flanked by a support vehicle provided by Builders Supplies.
